Information used by the app

Location

A selected city or the device's approximate or precise location is used to calculate prayer times, Qibla bearing, and the distance to the Kaaba. Salat Times does not transmit location to a Salat Times server or make it available to the developer. When current location is selected, the app may ask the operating system's geocoding service to turn coordinates into a city and country name. That service is provided by the device or operating-system vendor, not by Salat Times.

Compass and direction readings

Device compass readings may be used to show the live Qibla direction. On supported platforms, location-derived direction of travel may be used temporarily when a live compass heading is unavailable. These readings are processed for the Qibla feature and are not collected by Salat Times or sent to the developer.

Preferences

The chosen location, calculation method, Asr method, appearance, notification setting, and Athan selection are stored locally so the app can restore them on the next launch. They remain on the device until the user changes them, clears app data, or uninstalls the app.

iOS widgets and Live Activities

On iOS, the next-prayer schedule and selected location name may be copied to private app-group storage so a widget or an enabled Live Activity can display them. This information remains on the device and is not sent to the developer. Lock Screen widgets and Live Activities may be visible to anyone who can see the device screen; they can be removed or disabled through the app and iOS controls.

Android widget

On Android, a short upcoming-prayer schedule and selected location name may be copied to private app storage so the optional home-screen widget can show the next prayer and a live system countdown. This information remains on the device, is not sent to the developer, and is removed when app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Notifications and scheduled alerts

When enabled, the native app schedules an approaching-prayer reminder and a prayer-time alert locally. On platforms that offer separate exact-alarm access, that access is used only for these user-requested prayer alerts. A short excerpt from the selected bundled Athan may play as the notification sound. Notification schedules and preferences are not sent to a Salat Times server.

App update checks

Versions with the app-update feature can check for updates when you open or return to the app, normally once a day after a successful check, or when you request a check in Settings. Update results and reminder preferences are stored locally on your device.

On Android, checks use the installed Google Play app and its official update service. Google documents that this service processes device metadata, the application version, and installed modules and asset packs to determine update availability and expected download size. Google Play operates this service under its own terms. See Google's update-service data disclosure.

On iOS, the app checks Apple's public App Store listing using its public app identifier and App Store country, with the device region as a fallback. Apple receives ordinary network connection information, such as an IP address. The installed version is compared with the listing on your device.

These checks do not send your prayer location, selected city, preferences, or prayer schedule to Apple, Google, or the developer. Salat Times does not add a device identifier to the Apple request or use a developer backend or analytics service for update checks.

Collection, sharing, and sale

The developer does not collect, sell, or share personal data from the native apps. Platform providers may process information for the services described above. The apps have no user accounts, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cloud database. The bundled Athan recordings are stored within the app and do not contact their source websites during use.

The public web version is delivered by hosting infrastructure that may process ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and user agent, for delivery, reliability, and security. Salat Times does not use that information to profile users.

User controls

• Location permission can be changed in the device's system settings.
• Prayer alerts can be disabled inside Salat Times.
• Notification permission and sound can be changed in system settings.
• Where exact-alarm access is user-controlled, it can also be changed in system settings.
• iOS Live Activities can be disabled in Salat Times or in iOS settings.
• The Android home-screen widget can be removed through the device launcher.
• Stored preferences can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

Children and policy changes

Salat Times is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
